This is the situation that I wish to solve and maybe some
of the experts can help....I am running a router on my dsl
connection that provides access for both my desktop
computer as well as a wireless access for my wifes laptop..
The problem is I wish to connect my printer to the router
and wirelessly print to it from both computers with out
these computers having to talk to each other or share
anything with each other..Does anyone know of a way to do
this ??Both computers are running xp..(desktop home and
laptop pro) and the printer is an EPSON stylus photo 825..
The router is a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless B ....Any help
would as always be appreciated.........Drew

I'm not an expert, but as I understand these things, you can't connect
your printer directly to your router. For that, you would need to buy a
network printer server (either wired or wireless) such as the Linksys
WPS11. You really only need to do this if the printer must physically
be located where you can't connect it to either computer.

An easier solution is to connect your printer to your desktop and then
share only the printer (i.e., don't share any files). This is
essentially the setup I have using a Linksys WAP54G router, an ethernet
cable from my desktop to the router, and a Linksys WPC54G pcmcia card in
a laptop, although I do permit some file sharing between the laptop and
desktop. I have two printers, one connected to the desktop via LPT1 and
the other connected to the desktop via USB. Both are accessible from
the laptop.
