Creating a smooth "Fade Transition"

I've created a powerpoint in 2003. All the slides use a background image. I have applied the Fade Smoothly transition - Speed (slow. However, when I run the slide show it seems very choppy. Does anyone know of a way to smooth the transition or is there a better way to do this. I tried just leaving off the transition but that too is choppy when it goes to the next slide

Any HELP

This has more to do with your video/graphics card. But the first thing to do
is go to SLIDE SHOW >> SET UP SHOW >> and activate/check the USE HARDWARE
GRAPHICS ACCELERATION at the bottom. Now run your presentation and see if
things have improved. Let us know the results, and if needed we'll supply
some more in-depth troubleshooting.
