How can I fade out a track to start another artist>

I would like to do a slide show with one track one artist for some of the
slides and the transition to the next artist and other slides is not smooth
.... I would like to fade out one song then fade in the next is there a way to
do this? THANKS

There is no way to fade a sound inside of PowerPoint. However, you can edit
the sound outside of PowerPoint, or crossfade the two there, then re-insert
them back in.
