Creating a question template in PowerPoint

I would like to create a animated boxes in PPT that when clicked upon they
fade away and DO NOT RETURN when I return to that slide. My goal is to have
a slide with 6 questions each linked to their own answer slide. When
question 1 is clicked I would like it to disappear in some way so that the
question can not be chosen again. Any ideas?
thanx so much,
sys

Sys, we do it as follows at PowerPoint Live each year for our trivia
contest:

We stack two squares atop each other for each cell of the game board. The
one in front, colored red, contains the
hyperlink to its particular question slide. Its appearance on the board is
on a trigger set to the blue square behind it. Clicking on the blue square
triggers the appearance of the red square and clicking the red square sends
you off to the question.

While that plumbing is not exactly a piece of cake, driving the game is very
simple: blue squares represent cells that have not yet been chosen; red
squares are cells that have.

If you want, I can show you an example.
