Creating a defult user profile

Hi

I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I have built a laptop with XP
and all the apps which I require. I logged in to the domain as a standard
user and set up the destop with background, colours, shortcuts etc as
required. I then logged in as a domain admin and copied the standard user
profile to the default user and set it so that domainname\everyone is
permitted to use it. That is all fine but now when I log in as an
administrator I don't get the admin rights on the laptop which I should have
even though the account is a member of the local admins. I presume by
creating the default user profile with the standard user restrictions I have
now made it so that whoever logs in gets the default settings along with the
restricted permissions. How do you get around this problem when creating the
profile. Should I have created a local profile and then used this as the
default profile. Also, now that I have the problem is there any way of
recovering the situation without having to rebuild. Basically domain and
local admins should be able to log in and get admin rights on the machine
while standard users do not.

Thanks

Graeme

I suggest not using "Everyone". Try Domain Users, this way the Domain Admins
and local Admins won't be affected.
