Hi, I am trying to create a system recovery disk using the Backup/Restore
Wizard on XP pro on an HP laptop with only a CD, no floppy drive. After
completing the backup, the wizard errors out while trying to create the
recovery disk with "no removable drive available.", or something to that
effect. Is it possible to create a system recovery disk on a CD? If so how?

Thanks

Not with the built in XP software. I don't know about the other products.

Your best bet is to use software like Acronis True Image.
http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/

This program lets you backup files to CD,image partitions on a HD to a CD or
clone/image a whole HD to another.
It lets you "restore" before XP loads..........

The XP backup program will not back up to a CD-R........you would need to
back up to HD and then copy the file to CD-R.....
