Is it possible to create a "rule" to move an email from specific "people or
distribution lists" to a SPECIFIC folder AFTER I delete it?

Senerio:
I receive an email from "John Doe"
I read it
I hit the delete button
That email then goes to the "John Doe" folder I created, not the "Deleted
Items" folder.

Hi Kevin,

I don't understand why don't you set a rule to move the emails from "John
Doe" directly as they arrive to the "John Doe" folder and read them from
that folder...

Dan -
I thought of that, however let's say I have 50-100 personal folder set up
for people I receive emials from. The task of going through those folders to
read new emails leaves open to much room to miss one. If I could have all
emails come to my inbox, then I would be assured not to miss anything. To
add to this, I also may not want to actually delete emails from certain
individuals after I read them. I'm looking for a quick step to send a read
email to a specific folder. I know I could drag the email to the folder or
right-click and choose a folder to send to, but I'm basically looking for a
one-step action, like hitting the "delete" button and having a rule set to
move an email from a certain person sent to a specific folder.

Hi Kevin,

I think you have to use a script for that. However have you think at moving
a copy of the emails from "John Doe" (to follow the example) to the folder
you wish (Rules & Alerts->New Rule->Start from blank rule->Check messages
when they arrive->from people or distribution list->choose the contact->move
it to the specified folder)? This way you will have the email in the Inbox
(where you can delete it after you read it) and you will also have the
folder of your choice.
