crcdisk.sys

Kapp

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate and when I boot up my system it takes me
to the start up options: safe mode, safe mode with dos prompt, etc. I start
the system in safe mode and it stops at crcdisk.sys and will not go any
further. If I start in normal mode it just keeps re-starting the system.
How do I get past crcdisk.sys??? I'm running asus P5N-D motherboard, 3gigs of
memory and two 320 GB seagate drives on a raid 0 striping.

Kapp,

I have not faced this problem in my experience with Windows, nor ever
heard of it. However, I took the liberty to help you out a bit by looking
around on some forums. According to the sources that I have looked at, they
are saying it is a corrupted driver; not the file system. So, in that case,
your Windows will not be able to pass by crcdisk.sys without deleting the
driver from the system completely. It looks like this file is associated
with Linksys wireless NICs. Whether or not this is your problem
specifically, you will have to judge based on the knowledge of what you
have, and where.
