Hello,

I'm running 32 bit Vista Ultimate.

Periodically I cannot boot my PC, it crashes with the blue screen. When I
try to boot in safe mode, the boot stops displaying ../drivers/crcdisk.sys.
Booting the "Last known good configuration" usually helps, but temporarily.

There are many reports about this issue, but I couldn't find any good
solution. I've tried chkdsk /r or /f, checked BIOS - didn't help.

Is there a permanent solution to this problem? What's causing this? It seems
that it started after the Windows update, but I'm not sure, and I don't know
what exactly was installed. Also, this problem seems to be hardware related.
I'm working with 3 Vista PCs, only one has this issue.

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Peter

It is normal for crcdisk.sys to be the last on the list of loading
drivers, but as to why the boot into safe mode doesnt complete I cant help.

Thanks. I wonder - is this a driver that is causing my computer to crash?
Can I disable it somehow?
