Crashed Domain Controller

I had a domain controller crash last week and was unable
to recover it. The root domain contoller continues to try
to replicate to it. How do I remove it from the active
directory with causing other problems.

You can delete it with AdsiEdit or Ldp that's included in the Support Tools
on the Server CD. You can also use Ntdsutil.exe utility to manually remove
the NTDS Settings object. Don't forget to clean up your DNS after you
deleted the DC object.
