Crash while searching registry

Jud Hendrix

When I try to search something in the registry, the computer crashes all
the time. I use Regedt32 and Registry Workshop, and the crashing happens
with both. I get a "PAGE FAULT IN NON_PAGED AREA". I think my registry is
corrupt, and was wondering if there is a utility which can check the
registry for that.

Hi Jud,

I suspect the problem is not with the registry.

Can you post the exact error message?

You may also want to take a look for any event logs that may have been
created by this fault.

Go to Start - Run and type eventvwr.msc and press enter.
