Crash/restart loop: how do I quit XPPro setup

I ran XP setup to reinstall some missing files. Now when
loading drivers (39-34minutes) the computer restarts.
Loop has occurred about 20 times.

Only indication of problem is a VGA mode change about 1
minute before crash. Checked Knowledge base &
disconnected USB. If I remove the XP CD, I can get a
cancel message, but computer restarts into setup mode
again.

Is there any way to quit the setup program?
