system error
category 102
event id 1003

Error code 000000d1, parameter1 ff2e6574, parameter2 00000002, 00000000,
parameter4 f8fb466a.

I clicked on the events.asp link, but found nothing useful.

Is there a log, other than event viewer? If yes, where?

Thanks.

I've already checked eventid.net .

Based on my experience, this issue may be caused by incompatible hardware or
hardware drivers.

Before we go further, I would like to confirm the following information:
1. Is there a blue screen when the issue occurs?
2. When did this issue first happen?
3. Did it start to appear right after you added some hardware or software?
4. What is the frequency of this issue?

Please disable the automatic restart function by performing the following
steps:
1. Right click My Computer. Click Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab and then click the Setting button in the "Startup
and Recovery" box.
3. Uncheck the "Automatically restart" check box.
4. Choose "Small memory dump (64K)".
5. Click OK. Click OK.

I suggest we first restart the computer in Safe Mode to see if the problem
also occurs in a minimally protected-mode configuration, with disabled
Windows device drivers and using the standard VGA display adapter.
1. Restart the computer.
2. Keep pressing the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears.
3. Choose Safe Mode, and press Enter.
4. Run the computer in Safe Mode for some time to see if the issue still
exists.

To resolve this issue, turn off the System Restore feature, and then turn it
back on. To do this, follow these steps.
NOTE: You must turn on the System Restore feature after you turn it off to
resolve this issue.

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click "Switch to Classic View", and
then double-click System.
2. Click the System Restore tab, and the click to select the "Turn off
System Restore" check box.
3. Click OK, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to turn off the
System Restore feature.
4. Restart the computer.

You may receive the following error message when you restart Windows:
The system has recovered from a serious problem. A log of this error has
been created.

5. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
6. Click the System Restore tab, and the click to clear the "Turn off System
Restore" check box.
7. Click OK, and then restart the computer.

Dear Taimur:
Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

1. No
2. 19 Jan during boot; it has not happened subsequently, through > 25
re-boots & cold boots.
3. No
4. Only once.

Beginning 02 Jan 2005, after I installed a new DLink DWL-G650 wireless NIC,
a series of NetBT errors appears.

This site: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=833747 seems to offer help
with that issue.

I appreciate the thoroughness of your advice, but because it has happened
only once, and not during 25+ boots, I think the problem will remain a
mystery.

I found this, which may be useful:
