cpu restarts randomly

Recently my cpu has been restarting while in the middle of operations. This
has occurred during downloads but also while just working on the computer. I
have Windows XP Home, with2.3ghz and 1 gig of memory. Any thoughts about
this problem or diagnostic efforts would be appreciated. I have run a full
scan of Norton Internet Security and no threats have emerged. Thanks for any
assistance.

What Brand of PC is this? Im having a similar problem. Then manufacture is
replacing my system bord and CPU they already replaced the power supply. do
you get "Your system just recovered from a critical hardware error? would
you like to send a report to microsoft?" I have a fresh install of XP after
a complete hardrive formatt including partitions. if you do get a report
error code get the details and post them. Also you might want to try
reviewing your system logs. Click on the items with the red X and then the
link you might find a answer there. Make shure you have a good spyware
killer. microsoft has on in beta version for free. hope this helps.
