Cpu Proformance

Guest

Hi; My computer recently started opening and closing programs very slowly.
I ran Scan Disk and have also run a full virus scan. Every thing checked out
with both of those programs. However, if I use Ctrl Alt Delete the CPU
preformance is 100%? I've never seen it at 100% before. Is there something
I can do to fix that? Also when I go to shut down I get a dialog box that
says ending program CCapp? Don't know what that is since again if I look at
Ctrl Alt delete there is nothing running.

First see which application is using 100. To do that (DO this when CPU is at
100):
....Open Task manager
....Go to Process tab
....Click CPU column twice (Don't double click)
....Now click View menu > Update Speed > Paused
....See who is using 100 CPU (In CPU column)

I suspect it is Norton. To figure out:
Go to Norton options > Turn off Load Autoprotect at startup (Or something like
that)

CCapp is norton and that problem is very common.

Spyware causes many problems. If not installed download and run Adaware
and / or update Reference file

Whilst the Norton Anti-Virus offers a reasonable level of protection it is
"resource" hungry and some Norton Utilities create their own problems.
I have dumped Norton Anti Virus and opted for AVG 7 (Free) and
Norton Personal Firewall for the Windows Firewall ( and Router Firewall ).

It was the right move!

Hope this helps.
