CPU FSB

How can I tell what the FSB is of my Processor is? I have a P4 2.53 GHz CPU
and was thinking of getting a 3 GHz one with an 800 MHz FSB which my new
motherboard caters for. Then I thought, what if my current processor is 800
MHz FSB (I don't think it is but I actually don't know) in which case I
wouldn't bother. Is this something I would have to look at in the BIOS or
can it be found in Windows XP?

Cheers.

More than likely it's a 533mhz FSB. The 800's start at 2.4ghz and typically
go in even increments (ie. 2.5ghz, 2.6ghz, etc). If your MB supports 800,
go for it. Try ZipZoomFly for boxed processors. They're usually the
cheapest on the web - that's where I get all mine.

You should try the new AMD 64's. I've got one and it blows away any P4 I've
used or built - especially with Windows XP 64-bit. Or you could just wait
for Intel to catch up in the CPU race and pay more for it. ;-)
