Not a .NET issue, but here's the information you need to post for readers to
provide you useful answers.

First, the fan is almost certainly running because the temperature sensor is
reading a CPU temperature above a threshhold.

Is your computer a desktop or a laptop? If it's a laptop, disassembly may be
something you want to leave to professionals. The hardware specifications
are also useful. CPU type and model. HSF installed and case fan
configuration.

First, you need to determine three temperatures, CPU, case and room. Provide
these three temperatures for your computer at idle and under full load. The
three are necessary to determine the cause of any heat issues. There are
several programs you can use to measure CPU and case temperatures while the
computer is in use. SpeedFan is one (Google it).

If your computer is older, or is used in a dusty area, it may be clogged
with dust, causing higher temperatures. Look for deposits on fan blades, on
any case filters and in other areas where air enters or leaves the case.
Especially check the CPU fan and between the fins of the heat sink. Note:
cleaning between the fins will probably require removal of the fan.

First post back with temperature readings and your hardware specs for
targeted suggestions.
