CPU at 100%

Posted this before but can't seem to find it. Anyone know why CPU is at 100%
and explorer.exe is using 99% when I simply go to open a file folder with
video, picture, and music?
Thanks Again!

Hi John,

Are you using MSN or Yahoo toolbar with tabbed browsing? If so look for
orphaned iexplore.exe in the Processes list of Task Manager and end them
before starting a new instance of iexplore.exe or explorer.exe. I am not
quite sure why these toolbars are causing this problem (I think that they
some how loose track of the opened instances of tabs, so reinstalling the
toolbars may help by reseting the opened tabs count)

Regards.

I had some issues with animate GIFs taking up 100% of CPU on one
machine, but cured it by knocking back the graphics hardware
acceleration under your graphics properties, from 'full' to one notch
less than full. Since then, everything is happy.

Of course the 'stock' answer is to check for spyware, although no-one
that has been told that ever seems to have solved the problem. :-(

Rob.
