COULD NOT OPEN AN ATTACHMENT: THE FORM REQUIRED TO VIEW THIS MESS.

I'm hoping someone can help with this:
I am using a PC at home. I get an email with an attachment. I get the
message "the form required to view this message cannot be displayed". When I
right click the attachment, I cannot see what extension it has. I tried the
following but had not luck:
Go to Tools menu.
Click Options
Click the Other Tab.
Click Advanced Options
Click Custom Forms
Click Manage Forms
Click Clear Cache

I'm at a loss here. I get several emails with attachments and have gotten
this message quite a bit. I don't know what types of files the attachments
are unfortunately.

Sincerely,
Mary Sama

There are several Microsoft Knowledge Base articles that document the
exact error message you are receiving under different scenarios. The
resolution for almost all of the articles is to search for and delete
all instances of the "Frmcache.dat" file. Outlook will rebuild this
cache file the next time you launch it, and this will most likely
resolve your problem.

To Delete the Frmcache.dat File

Close Outlook
Click Start , point to Find , and click Files or Folders .
Type "Frmcache.dat "in the Named box, and click Find Now .
Click to select the file and press DELETE to remove each instance of the
file.
Restart Outlook
