"Could not find message window" attachment error

I am running XP Pro and Outlook 2007. I have recently been having an issue
where I am unable to add attachments to Outlook messages. Any type of
attachment results in the error message box "Could not find message window".

However if I right click a file and select "Send to mail receipient", the
file attaches without an issue.

I've tried creating a new Outlook profile, repairing, and
uninstalling/reinstalling without any luck. I'm baffled!
