corrupted zipped folder

Does anyone know how to fix a zipped foleder over 4GB? I didn't know they
could become corrupted if you create a zipped file larger than 4GB, now I
need to somehow get the info out and resave as a smaller file.

I'm not sure if that is relevant because the file is pictures all in the jpeg
format.
