Hi There,
Can someone share some light please?
i have an old .pst file which seems to be corrupted. It was created at the
time when i was running Win2K, but i now use XP professional and also have
Office XP professional.

Now!! i have been trying to locate an inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe), but
it doesn't seem to exist in XP neither do i see any support related links for
XP on the issue. Everything seems to be for Win2K or Outlook 2000 to 2003.
Can anyone help? I desperately need to review this old pst. file and don't
know what to do.

Please note that my knowledge in IT is very limited.

Thanks in advance
Regards

Every version of Office should install the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe).
The general location for an english system is \Program Files\Common
Files\System\MSMAPI\1033. It is the last folder that changes based on what
language of software you purchase.

If you have got corrupt PST files and you are unable to locate Scanpst.exe in order to repair the damaged files then you don't need to worry becuase the location of Inbox Repair Tool or Scanpst.exe vary from in different versions of Windows operating system. In order ti locate this tool in Windows XP you should move to C::\Program files\System\MAPI\1033\Scanpst.exe.
Once you locate this inbuilt repair utility execute it and select the corrupt PST files. After locating the files Click on "Repair" button in order to repair the damaged files.
