corrupted files?

Please could somebody help me. I keep getting a " not
responding" message when trying to open one of my files
in dreamweaver ultradev4 (operating system is XP home).
When I view the Windows error report I am told that the
following 2 files will be included:

c:\docume~1\paulby~1\locals~1\temp\wer1.tmp.dir00
\ultradev.exe.mdmp
c:\docume~1\paulby~1\locals~1\temp\wer1.tmp.dir00
\appcompat.txt

I also get similar messages as internet explorer closes
itself now & again:

c:\docume~1\paulby~1\locals~1\temp\wer1.tmp.dir00
\iexplore.exe.mdmp
c:\docume~1\paulby~1\locals~1\temp\wer1.tmp.dir00
\appcompat.txt

Sometimes the "wer1" changes, for example, to "wer5"
or "wer35c"

Some of the error message , incidentally, is in higher
case.

I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Is the
software corrupt? Are my files corrupted? I have run a
virus scan which showed no infected file. I also have an
up-to-date virus checker & firewall (Norton) installed.

Go to your temp folder and delete everything in it. See if this works.
