Fatal error

I have Windows XP, 256 MB RAM, AMD 1700 MHz processor.
Recently, each time I boot my computer, after my desktop
is loaded I receive the following message regarding an
error, while there is no error:

Error signature

Product : 256_1

What do Event Viewer Application and System logs report about this
error? There is very little net information on the "a" code. One
person found the error went away when AVG anti-virus was removed. What
does the minidump show? BTW the error reports that the computer has not
been updated to SP1.
