Corrupted Contacts

I am running Outlook 2003. When I open my contacts in my address book I see
a lot of blank entries. When I try to open one of the blank records I
receive an error: The Properties dialog box could not be opened. An invalid
ENTRYID was passed in. Then a second dialog box says: The Properties dialog
box could not be displayed. The action could not be completed. I cannot
delete the records and it looks like more are created periodically. What
caused this and how do I fix it?

Only you know what caused it. You were there. We weren't. We have no way of
knowing what you did to corrupt your Outlook Address Book.
The address book was never intended for viewing or editing Contact data. You
do that in your Contacts Folder.
Just reset your Outlook Address Book. Method depends on your version, which
you failed to post. It has been posted here countless times. Just find a
post that matches your version and follow the instructions.

Wow...Pretty interesting reply. Perhaps if you did not know what caused me
problem, you should have just stated that. If I actually had an idea of what
I did to corrupt my address book I would have included that in my original
posting as information that would be useful for identifying the problem and
getting a resolution. Your reply unfortunately did not resolve my issue. I
suggest a different line of work for you, if customer service is not your
thing.

For anyone else who may read this and have information that would help me,
please let me know of any addidiotnal information that would be required to
resolve my issue, other than knowing that I am running Outlook 2003 (SP2).

This is an end user newsgroup, not "customer service." What you needed and
expected was a mind reader.
It is not unusual for the Outlook Address Book to "lose track" of the
connection to its Contacts Folder when you move or import your PST or update
your Outlook version or operating system. Use the following steps to reset
the connection. Note that in some instances you may actually have to remove
the Outlook Address Book completely from your Profile, close Outlook, and
then re-add it before you can get it to work.

For Outlook 2002/2003:
Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right
click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is
the box to enable as email address book checked?
If this is grayed out...Go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change
existing directories or address book. Is the Outlook Address Book present?
If it isn't listed, add it and close and restart Outlook. If it is listed,
then remove it and close then restart Outlook and repeat these steps to add
it.
