Corrupted computer accounts in AD

Hi,

I have 2 member servers which are encountering this problem.

Application Event Log:-
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000

User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: Computername
Description: Windows cannot determine the user or computer name.

I have rejoined the domain:
i) rejoined the server as a WORKGROUP and reboot
ii) rejoined the server to the DOMAIN and reboot

It did work initially, however after sometime the a/c get corrupted again.

Any advice will be appreciated?
BTW, do I need to recreate the a/c in Active Directory Users and Computers?

Thanks in advance.

Are you able to logon to the domain?
If you open a cmd prompt after login and type "set L" does it show a DC as
the logon server?
If so you are most likely looking at a problem with applying group policy.
Here is one KB that talks about this error and DNS
261007 Event ID 1000 Is Logged in the Application Event Log
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=261007

I would suggest enabling winlogon and/or userenv logging to get more
detailed logs of the problem.

Hi,

I tried to logon to the domain after rejoining.
However I get the following error when authenticating:
"The system cannot log you on to this domain because the system's computer
a/c in its primary domain is missing or the password on that a/c is
incorrect."

I have ensure that my a/c password is correct and a computer a/c has been
added in AD.

What else could be the problem or where can i look into?

THanks in advance
