Corrupt search assistant

I have lost search capability in Windows Explorer due to error: A file that
is required to run search assistant cannot be found.

So I go to the fix page at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q319949 but can't run
this because I have XP SP2 installed.

I'm not sure, but I suspect Yahoo caused the problem. I have deleted all
Yahoo menu bars, etc. but the problem won't go away. I've also tried going
into configure settings and still have the problem.

So... do I get rid of XP SP2?

I tried the srchasst.inf install, but another dll file couldn't be found.

I uninstalled XP SP2 and then reinstalled it. The search is now working fine.
