corrupt or missing ntoskrnl.exe file

My laptop crashed and now it says that it cannot start up as file
ntoskrnl.exe is corrupt or missing and I have a lot of important info on it.
Can someone help me and is the information recoverable? It will not let me
do anything - just the black screen and this message over and over.
