When I turn on my computer running WIndows XP Pro, I get the following message

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
<Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
Please re-install a copy of the above file

How do I do that?

The best way to fix it is to reinstall that is boot from the XP Pro CD and at the first screen that comes up Hit enter to continue. The next screen that comes up that also has repair on it click on repair. Just follow the screens from here. What this will do is just delete the XP files and reinstall XP and this should take care of your problem.
