Try renaming or deleting the problem font. The OS should default back to
System font in the event that it can't find the appropriate file.

When I boot up Windows 2000 SP2 the font on the buttons is that of the
Marlett font type. The hardware installation windows are garbage
also. What happened how do I fix this?

Celeron 1GHz
RAM: 512M
HD: 30 G

I'm totally stumped. I can't find any reference to fixing corrupt
fonts in the Support section. I thought someone out there with more
experience with Windows 2000 Professional than I have would have the
answer.
Any help is appreciated.

If you get an answer to the font problem, please kick it
over to me for the same thing happened on my Sony Vaio P3-
750 last week. After I shutdown and reboot, I loose all
fonts and the resultant symbols that are left don't mean
anything. I can restore fonts to the system by
reinstalling the fonts from "my computer's" hard drive
using the "install font" function (the symbol for font
has in the 2nd position 3 diagonal lines and ends with
a ?). This will allow the computer to have fonts until
you need to boot up again. Again, any reply to fix this
problem would be appreciated.
