corrupt font file

In windows xp home C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\TimesNewRoman.ttf, the Alphabet is
missing??? How could that happen?? Have tried to replace the file folowing
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314960. does not
work, 1st- can not find fonts on the cd, 2nd- can not delete the font file. I
nave checked other font files and they are in tact, just the
TimesNewRoman(normal).ttf..
Any Ideas??

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type: SFC /SCANNOW

Already tried it, didn't work. No change in the times.ttf file.

Sounds like a registry problem: find all the TIMES.TTF files in the
system and replace 'em all with a good copy.

Hey Rick,
They are all good. I can view them on a different machine and they are fine.
I think it may be a regestry problem.
