Hello!

I have the following problem: When i logon to my Win2K-PC i only get a
blank blue screen. The mouse does not work. I can execute taskmanager, i
can run programs by Win-R, but the charachters are very small. With my
profile, that i used over 3 Years, everything works fine, as Admin as
well, but every new user i create has the problem i described. It seems,
as if the default user is corrupt. Can anywhone help me with my Problem
or point me to a way how to edit the default-user-settings?

Thanks in advance!

Make your own profile the user profile!
- Log on as Admin
- Control Panel / System
- Click "User Profiles"
- Click your own profile
- Click "Copy to..."
- Type Default user
- Clean out the new "Default user" folder:
* Delete everything non-standard in the "Desktop" folder.
* Delete everything non-standard in the "Start Menu" folder.
* Delete "Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files"
* Delete any personal documents you might have there
(.pst files? Outlook Express files?)
- Log on as a new user to check if things work OK.

You probably copied the "Default User" profile into the
administrator's folder instead of here: "c:\documents and settings".

If you're not familiar with paths, use the Browse button
to ensure that the "Default User" profile ends up in the
right place.

Click Start / Help / Search tab, then type copy profile
and click the appropriate help item to read the full inbuilt
help text on this technique.
