cordless keyboard problems

I have a Dell cordless keyboard, and I am finding "hesitation"
problems when typing... skipped letters or having to type very slowly
for each letter to come up. I am wondering if my keyboard just needs
new batteries, but since I am a "non-techie", can anyone tell me if
there is something I have to do after I change the batteries for the
keyboard to be recognized by the computer as I have to do with my
cordless mouse.

Hello,

For wireless devices, three factors deal with response rate - distance,
obstacles and interference between the receiver and transmitter. There are
others, like transmission power and battery level.

Personally, I find wireless devices having this problem of skipping text
too - especially when I type very fast.

Try placing the devices closer to each other. Move your cordless phone away
and see if it helps. Place your receiver at another location. Experiment.

Or change to a wired keyboard. Let us know how it goes.
