Copying Word docs that contain hyperlinks to other Word docs

Our documentation system is essentially made up of a
series of documents created using MS Word. For certain
documents we would like to create hyperlinks to other
documents in the documentation system.

MS Word allows us to this but it creates the following
problem -

if document A is copied to a location not on the intranet
and document A has a hyperlink to document B then the
hyperlink is often rendered useless because document B is
not copied across to the new location. ie. when the user
opens the copy of document A he sees what appears to be a
hyperlink but it is pointing to a location on the intranet
that is not necessarily visible from the new location.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get around this
problem it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Veter
