I can't seem to save a file to a cd. It keeps saying "Invalid function"?
Any suggestions? It appears I don't have access to the cd drive?

What happens when you place an audio CD in the drive?

Can it be accessed and music played using Media Player?

Can you use Explorer to browse the contents of the CD?

Which application are you attempting to use whilst copying files to CD, is
it Windows in-built CD writing or something like Nero?

If it's Nero uninstall it and then try using the in-built CD writing
application in XP.

If this won't work, consider that the CD may be due for retirement.

Yes, that's the way it's supposed to be. Unless you have some kind of packet
writing software installed (e.g. Easy CD or Nero) then you cannot save files
in the way you wish. The native applet does *NOT* support packet-writing.

XP does *not* provide direct copy to CD; for that you need one of the
packet writing programs. See my page http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm
