Copying/Moving Folders/Files

Two questions regarding moving/copying multiple folders/files by the Drag &
Drop method - e.g. from C: to D: -

1) How does Windows decide the order/sequence of the transfer? I cannot see
any obvious logic to it and it certainly does'nt seem to be by either size
or by alphabetical order.

2) If there's a problem with the operation - e.g. *Access Denied* , why does
Windows just abort the whole operation?
Why does it not at least give the user the option of skipping that file
and/or logging any such problems and/or showing the user which folder was
concerned and therefore allowing a later retry of the move/copy with that
file manually excluded?

TIA

The order usually starts with the one you have the cursor on. As for why it
aborts the whole operation because of one file, I don't know.
