Hello,
I am trying to move data off of one NAS device to another
(NetApp to a Snap Appliance). When I do a cut and paste or
copy and paste the process stops because the file names
are japanese characters and I have to rename them using
English characters. Anyone ever run into this? I have a
lot of data I am moving around and this problem is very
irritating.

If you can read japanese on your windows2000 (need change locale to japan japanese system font require)
this will help you

this program change all file name in one specific folder.

If you wantkeep japanese file name,
you can transfer file via Ftp Client program.
Snap server's FTP protocol can handle Japanese.
youcan uplad, download, delete file via ftp.
also http inteface are no problem too.
but if you try to brawse with windows explorer, you can have problem with japanese file.
Snap server won't rename, remove, japanese file.
