Copying Data

Hello,

We have a database system that the manager can pull queries to get his
information. However, we are unable to put it in an excel spreadsheet. This
system was created by someone who is no longer here. Our IT department could
probably help but that would take forever and a day. So, when the data comes
up after the query has ran, it looks like a spreadsheet/access table. It will
aloow me to higlight the fields but I cannot right click to copy and there
are no button or menus for exporting. I tried a Cntrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to
paste and still nothing. Is there any possible way to get this information
into excel with out having to wait on IT?

Thanks!!

Run the query. Then go to Tools on the Menu, Office Links, Analyze with
Excel. That should do it.

Hi Carrie,

Thank you for replying. I didn't see that option. In fact, there were no
options in the toolbar. That's the problem, I can't seem to get this to copy
over. Why will it not let me right click after I highlight the information?

I hate to go to IT because it's like an act of congress to get anything done
through them. Plus, being that this is not a high priority they will not get
to it for quite a while.

If you have any other suggestions, they would be most appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

maybe you should learn SQL Server--- Access doesn't have a future for
anyone in the real world

Ignore Aaron, as always.

It sounds as if you do not have standard toolbars and menus available.
Press and hold the Shift key when opening the database, which may (depending
on the Startup options the developer used) allow you to bypass the startup
options. If so, you will be able to open the form directly from the
database window. You can also go to Tools >> Startup and change the startup
options so you can have standard toolbars and menus in the application.

Hi Bruce,

Thank you for replying. I tried that already and it won't let me open it
that way. If all else fails, I suppose I could le t the IT Dept take care of
it. I just thought if I could get the info myself it would save a lot of
headache going through them.

Why will it not let me right on the datasheet after the information is
highlighted?

Oh well, I guess I better put the requisition in before more people get
ahead of me.)

Thank you anyway Bruce, I appreciate your help!!!
