Clarify your post.
How did you "copy" your PST?
How did you configure the new installation to use it?
Is your Contacts Folder empty or only your Outlook Address Book?

G

Guest

I copied it to a jump drive, then copied it to my new PC.
I replaced my existing pst file.

I didn't configure it at all, not sure how? I just copied
it, then opened Outlook. In my folder list under
Contacts, all my contacts are there, but when I click on
the address book icon, I get this message: The address
list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder
associated with this address list could not be opened; it
may have been moved or deleted, or you don't have
permissions. For information on how to remove this folder
from the Outlook Adress Book, see MSFT Office Outlook Help.

I'm not quite sure how to answer your question on whether
my Contacts folder is empty... Under the the Folder List,
in the Contacts folder, yes they are all there. But when I
click on the address book icon, the Contacts are empty?

Thank you.

That would explain it.
Never overwrite a PST file. It will corrupt your profile and disrupt several
settings. So far you have only disrupted the connection to your Outlook
Address Book. That can be easily restored here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change.

If you're lucky, that's all you've disrupted. If you run into more problems,
you will need to create a new Outlook Profile and then use the correct
method for migrating your Outlook Data, all clearly spelled out in the Help
files:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010771141033.aspx

It would seem like I should start over. Do you agree? What

Probably not necessary.
Did you restart Outlook after you reset the Outlook Address Book? If so,
then just remove the entire Outlook Address Book Service, restart Outlook,
then re-add it and direct it to the correct Contacts Folder. That will reset
it to your current PST file.

You can see your Contacts in the Outlook Address Book but not the
