Copy GAL Addr to Pers Contacts default to editable smtp address

Using Outlook 2003. Copying Email Addresses from the Global Address List to
Personal Contact List. When opening the new address which was copied, I
cannot edit the e-mail address. It defaults to the Exchange Server values,
even though it is in my own Contact list. It showed X400, SMTP. When
sending it would validate with the server, even though the address is correct.

This caused issues for a remote worker. Emails would just sit in the outbox.

I had to export the address to excel. Edit the excel sheet and manually
enter each smtp e-mail address. Afterwards, I had to import it back and link
fields. A cumbersome chore. I had a frustrated user breathing down my back.

Solution would be to have it default when copying contacts from the Global
Address List to users Personal Contact list default as a new contact with a
smtp address, which one could edit. Links to exchange server would no longer
be present, because the contact is located in personal contacts folder.
