Copy from CD

Using WinXP trying to copy a Folder with Files and subfolders from CD to HD,
but keep
getting cannot read from file or copy source disk, I can however copy
individual files from each folder on CD, but as there are over a 100 folders
+ files this is not practicable, the problem seems to be the Folders not the
files in them, any ideas on what I am doing wrong.

Some filenames are likely to contain "illegal" characters. It only takes a single file whose
name has an "illegal" character to prevent a copy procedure. I had the same problem.
Couldn't copy files containing a ' (or was it an `) over from the My Documents folder on my
Win98 machine, and had to rename them. Strangely enough, I am now unable to reproduce
the problem. :-/ Maybe it was subsequently installing all the security updates and non-critical
updates that fixed it.

Try using the DOS XCOPY command. Start => Run => XCopy /? >
"c:\xcopyhelp.txt"
