copy across multiple cd/dvds

Is there any way that I can copy a huge avi file across
multiple dvds? I know I can use a backup program to do
this but I would rather have a copy without the backup
overhead and need to "restore". Thanks.

Not with Windows native tools.
If you need advanced features such as disk spanning you need a 3rd
party application.
