coping to a cd-r

i copyed my movie to a cd-r. it will play on my computer, but not on my dvd
player. what do i need to do? thanks
 
Did you verify the specifications of the DVD player to verify what other
media it was compatible with?
 
If you can find one that works with WMV files I would be impressed.
Bonnie, you need a DVD authoring program to use to create a VideoCD (VCD).
Simply burning the movie to a CD won't work since DVD players don't
recognize and play WMV files or even AVI files.
There are many DVD authoring programs out there to purchase but if it's only
a one time thing then I recommend just using one of the free trial
downloads. I have a list of programs with links to their download pages on
my website in the "DVD Programs" section.
 
You can look in the manual that came with the burner (if there was one) or
check the manufacturers website for either a manual or a list of compatible
media.
