Converting Bitmap Image

I copy some data from the web, convert one column into two columns and
then copy the data to notepad and then copy to my spreadsheet.

If I try copying directly to my spreadsheet it doens't show up, and
I'm assuming that's because it's a bitmap image. (Even though it
looks like ordinary data.)

is there a way to avoid the step of copying to notepad and then
copying to the spreadsheet?

It's not a bitmap image but rather html code. For one reason or another
Excel isn't rendering it visibly. If it really were a bitmap image you
wouldn't be able to manipulate the data at all. (At least not without a
great deal of fiddling around.)

That's probably the easiest way. It's the method I use for Excel and for
Word when all I want is the data.

So I assume you can't do it within the spreadsheet itself? I have
ASAP utilities. Do they have a function for doing this?

In Excel there is a right-click > "Paste special" function but the results
are so unpredictable I never use it.
