How do I convert a word perfect document to a word
document if I don't have the windows xp cd?

Pam,

Do you have Office installed on your computer? You can
simply open the WP document in Word (File>Open and select
All Files under Files of Type and then locate your WP doc)

Word 2000 and XP will automatically convert the WP file
when it opens it. You can then just save the file as a
Word doc (File>Save As and make sure the change the Files
of Type to Word (.doc) before clicking Save).

Other versions of Word (95 and 97) can open the WP docs if
they have the right file conversions installed.

Note, the file may or may not look exactly as it did
(formatting may be off) in WP. The conversion process is
not without it share of problems, however you should at
least still have all of the text, which is the most
important part.

Success in conversion will have nothing to do with Windows XP.

Some ways you may wish to try:

- Open the document in Word (Word not part of XP, by the way) and save
as a Word doc.
- Open the document in Word Perfect (Word Perfect no part of XP, by the
way) and save as a Word doc.
- Seach on Google for other utilities that are free for download or can
be purchased to convert Word Perfect to Word.
