conversion program

Hi All, I need help again, I need a conversion program to convert .mod to mpeg.
I need one that is free (I'm tight I know) but it has to be very simple to
use.
I have looked at other programs and they just confuse me even more :(

I thought MOD files were actaully mpeg2 files written by things like the jvc
hdd camcorders, so shouldn't need converting to mpeg2.
Perhaps give us more details on where the files have come from and what you
want to do with them.

If it's to be used in MM, then you need a converter to take them to wmv.

I do have the JVC camera and I copy the files from the hard disc to the desk
top on my computer and I want to edit the files in MM but can't import them
due to them being .MOD files and I just want a simple easy program to convert
to somthing that I can use for MM.
I have a look at that web page but it's a bit confusing as to what one to
use, not being a computer genius. Sorry
