Controlling footers

I have a Word 2003 document with several sections. The first sectioin is
over 30 pages and each of the following section is a single page. In Page
Setup I chose Different First Page. I inserted a footer for page one and it
shows up only on page 1--but only of the first section. Therafter it shows
up on the first page of each section. How can I limit this footer to the
first page?
 
You can either unlink the First Page Footer of Section 2 from Section 1 or
(more easily) turn off "Different first page" in all the sections after the
first.
