control panel view keeps changing

every time i open control panel, it displays as "details".
how do i keep my control panel view as "icons"? (i have
windows explorer set to "details")

Increase the number of folder layouts that are kept by Windows in
TWEAKUI.EXE > Explorer > Customizations.
You may have to reset the saved layouts to make this work: Delete the
Registry keys HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags
and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU, both
with all the subentries, then create new keys "BagMRU" and "Bags"
here.

Try closing Control Panel by holding down Ctrl at the same time as you
click the x in the upper righthand corner. Should hold its setting.
