This panel pc came from a 105 foot AB yacht. It is used to display information from a plc that collects information from the yacht. Details such as voltages, engine data, lighting control, pumps controls, AC shore power auto/manual disconnects and security are shown on this unit.

It seems to have suffered water intrusion which damaged the area supplying connection from the main board to the touch controller. The system operates perfectly fine without use of the touch panel.

Long out of date and unavailable parts call for a custom solution. That's what we do.

Does equipment on board tend to fail earlier than usual because of the salty water in the air? Whenever we visit relatives on the south coast, anything metal outside seems to rust really quickly - especially cars (they're meters away from the English Channel).

Corrosion is a big problem. Anything that is not stainless steel and left to the elements will rust away fairly quickly.
