I am working on Windows 2000 Professional. What I would like to know is can the icons listed in the Control Panel be removed somehow? If so, how?

Thanks,

Arpan

That question doesn't have a single answer. There are several
ways to install Control Panel icons, and the best way to remove
them depends on which icons you're talking about.

If an icon came from a third-party program, use the uninstall
routine for that program.

If all you want to do is control the *display* of Control Panel
icons, rather than removing them permanently, use TweakUI:

This should apply to the local security policy found in
Win 2K pro. I know this policy pushed to all XP and 2K
Pro boxes just fine on my network at work.
